Neuqua on Drugs is a student-produced documentary created to remember the three students from Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville who died of drug overdoses in the last few years. Through candid interviews of their friends and peers, viewers see the alarming growth of heroin use, its harrowing effects on the lives it touches, and, most importantly, that no family or community is immune. Parents and their high school-aged students are invited to watch clips from the movie and hear from a panel of experts as we view and process this eye-opening film together. The panel includes Lake County State's Attorney Mike Nerheim; DHS School Resource Officer Anthony Kropp; Maura Mooney, LCSW, CADC of NorthShore University HealthSystem; Mark Filler of the Jordan Michael Filler Foundation and Lee and Mark Mulert, DHS Parents. * Due to the graphic
nature of the film, parental discretion is advised.
We have parents of a Highland Park student and Deerfield High School student on the panel. They will share their stories about their experiences with their child and addiction in our community.
